The Lightbulb Moment
Hello friends, it's Sunday so I'm just gonna leave a few words here like I always do ... π
This time of our lives is honestly super challenging, and believe me, you're not the only one who's feeling hopeless and alone at times. I do, too. My friends do, too. We are all different ages and we still feel the same heaviness of the current World situation. If you live alone and you have to work from home and can't socialize with the people you love, we're on the very same page. We all struggle daily to find balance. I'm trying every day to make peace with how things are, to find something new to do. Yesterday, I finally started making bracelets from the beads that I ordered a long time ago. It totally came down to entertaining myself, me and I. And some of us realize that we can't do it so easily. It's hard, it's unknown. We all fight our little battles. Different battles from what we're used to. We MUST not get stuck in this cycle though. We can get out of it, we can find the drive again and wake up every morning feeling excited for something! Anything! π‘

Friday evening, I saw two movies and I cried like a baby watching both. I'm not ashamed to admit that the older I get, the more feels I get watching movies, and the more I weep, of course. Because I grew as a person, I gained all the much needed life experiences and so I can relate to most of the heartbreaking situations shown on the screen. Eat, Pray, Love and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Two quite heavy films if you think about it. Heavy especially during the time when we are forced to think about our lives more. By watching some growth triggering movies, you take the risk - it will either completely take you down, or you'll listen carefully and learn from the stories. I got back from work on Friday and I was seeking some movies that would make me look at things differently. I wanted to get out of the box in some matters. I wanted to turn my brain off and just see how other people do it. Imaginary people. This is the best time to rediscover yourself. Watch all the movies you're scared to watch! You know that they're gonna make you cry? Face it! Cry! Cry a river, cry your heart out, feel it! Quite frankly, it's the best therapy. It's a blessing if you come to a good conclusion about your life by yourself (watching a movie, for example). That's how it should be! You have a lightbulb moment when you realize: 'Wow, what the fuck have I been doing the whole time?'. People go to psychologists in hopes that the doctors will solve their problems FOR them. Nope, the psychologist will actually help you come to a realization of what you want, by asking you all bunch of questions. But the answers are within you, and they've always been. Get it? Good psychotherapist will never ever tell you what to do. They know that you already know what you want. Yes, you do. You can answer it for yourself. Sometimes you just need a little whack in the back to realize that. Well, sometimes a big one, huh?

Have you watched any of these movies? What is it that shook me, personally, the most in each of them? In Eat, Pray, Love, I was absolutely stunned when the main heroine, Julia Roberts, finally met a guy who would die for her, yet she wasn't able to accept it for herself. She wasn't sure whether she deserves it, she was doubting it. It seemed too perfect to be true, she was so scared to open her heart that she nearly missed her lifetime love opportunity if there was no Ketut! In her past relationships, she never really genuinely loved anybody, and when she found out what real love is, the fear got to her and she couldn't make the right move. Luckily, there was a happy ending, but in real life, it's not always the case! Why is it that we think we don't deserve it and we're not worthy of it, when the true love freely comes to us? I've got so many questions! In the Benjamin Button movie, the thing so well known to me, moved me the most. Benjamin's relationship with Daisy was 100% destined! These two were always meant to be together, and so they were, till the very end. I got chills when Benjamin came to visit Daisy to her house, when she already had another man and a full grown daughter (which was Benjamin's). They've always craved each other, even now, even if she was in her fifties and he was becoming a teenager - because it was just the body that looked different, the souls have stayed the same. I cried like a baby when she ended up coming to see him in the hotel and they started kissing each other, and Benjamin smelled Daisy's skin and said: 'Some things you never forget.'
What were your favorite scenes in these movies? Have you seen them? Tell me in the comments. π¬
