New Year Resolutions: Adding to the List for 2025

Happy New Year, everyone! As the clock struck midnight, I found myself reflecting on the past year—what I’ve learned, how I’ve grown, and the new possibilities I’d like to embrace. A few days ago, I shared my initial intentions for 2025, but my thoughts kept expanding, and I realized there’s so much more I want to explore to make my life even better. So here I am, sharing the next wave of resolutions that will guide me this year.

This post is accompanied by two scrapbooking pieces I worked on yesterday, during New Year’s Eve. I had so much fun making them while watching some TV show. 😊✨ They’re the first creations I made with some amazing new tools I received for Christmas, which have unlocked a new level of inspiration. I’m more motivated than ever to keep scrapbooking and pouring my creative energy into this passion. So, without further ado, here are some more resolutions for 2025, filled with hope, creativity, and determination.

1. Less Phone!

We all know how addictive phones can be. They’ve become this endless cycle of scrolling, comparing, and feeling drained. I’m no exception. Working in social media means I’m tied to my screen all day, and when I get home, I often feel the pressure to stay online—to respond, to check notifications, to avoid the dreaded FOMO. But honestly, enough is enough. In 2025, I’m setting boundaries. I refuse to feel responsible for other people’s expectations about instant replies. Remember when people didn’t have phones and lived just fine? I want to channel that energy. By limiting my screen time and using timers on social media apps, I’ll free up mental space and focus on real, meaningful connections. Imagine the stories I’ll have to share with friends when I’m not constantly plugged in!

2. Be More Present

This ties so closely to my first resolution. Have you ever looked around on the bus or at a restaurant? Almost everyone’s face is buried in their phone. I’ve noticed it in myself, too—even during moments when I’d rather be connecting with the world around me. It’s alarming, and I’m ready to break free. This year, I’m making an effort to truly live in the moment. I’ll listen when people speak, look them in the eyes, and savor the little joys that surround me. I want to people-watch on my morning commute, take in the scenery outside the window, and rediscover the simple pleasures of being present. Life is happening now, and I don’t want to miss it.

3. Create a Jewelry Collection That Mirrors My Thoughts

As many of you know, I’ve been growing my jewelry brand, ViolkaBeads, and it’s been such an exciting journey. Last year, I dedicated two full months to creating inventory for local shops and markets, and it was so fulfilling. But this year, I feel the pull to elevate my work even further. My style is evolving, and I want my creations to reflect that. In 2025, I’m focusing on timeless, dainty designs—think pearls, earthy tones, and pieces that seamlessly transition from office wear to summer dresses. I’m also incorporating vintage elements in new ways, adding depth and character to my work. Rebranding my line will be a gradual but rewarding process, and I’m so excited to share what’s coming. Stay tuned!

4. Declutter and Simplify

Do you ever feel weighed down by stuff? I certainly do. My closet and drawers are still kind of overflowing with things I no longer use or need. This year, I’m embracing the mantra: less is more. I plan to do a major clean-out—selling, donating, or gifting items that don’t spark joy or serve a purpose. It’s liberating to own less but love everything you have. Plus, I’ll be more intentional about future purchases. Before buying something, I’ll ask myself: Do I truly need this? Does it align with my style and values? Vintage shopping has been a game-changer for me. Most of my wardrobe now comes from thrifted finds, and the thrill of discovering unique pieces is unbeatable. It’s sustainable, stylish, and just plain fun.

5. Prioritize Self-Care

Gone are the days of sacrificing myself for people who don’t appreciate it. 2025 is my year to prioritize me. I’m committing to monthly massages, regular gym and yoga sessions, and indulging in small luxuries like manicures and pedicures. Taking care of myself isn’t just about looking good—it’s about feeling good and showing up as my best self. No more saying no to the things I want because of guilt or busyness. If it makes me happy, it’s worth it. For starters, I’m getting my nails done tomorrow—something simple yet elegant (pink or maybe French manicure?) —Because when you take care of yourself, everything else falls into place.

6. Nurture My Creative Side

Scrapbooking and journaling have always been my creative outlets, and I’m determined to give them the attention they deserve this year. My New Year’s Eve scrapbooking session reminded me how much joy this hobby brings me, and with my new vintage typewriter, the possibilities feel endless. I’ll carve out time to journal, collect ideas, and bring them to life in my scrapbooks. Creativity keeps me grounded, and I want to make it a priority, not an afterthought. Let’s see where this journey takes me in 2025!

7. Eat Nutritious, Mindful Meals

I’ve been lucky with a fast metabolism, but I know it’s time to treat my body with more care. After a tough bout of food poisoning last month, I realized how important it is to nourish myself with healthy, balanced meals. This year, I’m planning my meals with intention—oatmeal with fresh fruit for breakfast, peaceful sit-down lunches, and light dinners. I’m also exploring new recipes and considering consulting a nutritionist to stay on track. It’s all about building habits that support my health and well-being.

8. Travel, Explore, and Embrace the World

Traveling has always been one of my greatest joys. Whether I’m embarking on a solo adventure or sharing the experience with friends, exploring new places fills my soul like nothing else. It’s the people, the cultures, the food, and the memories that stay with you forever. This year, I’m determined to make time for travel. It’s easy to get caught up in daily routines and let those dreams of faraway places slip away, but not in 2025. Whether it’s a weekend getaway or a longer journey, I’m committing to seeing as much of the world as I can. Traveling is an education for me, and a reminder of how vast and beautiful our planet is.

A few mantras for me and you (if you want) that I wrote on my new vintage typewriter. ✨
